The graph below shows visits share coming from browser search bar for the 3 search engines: Google, Live Search and Yahoo! (that is to say visits not from the homepage of this search engines).
20.1% of Google visits came from search bar for February 2009: 3 times more than Live Search (7% of visits) and 10 times more than Yahoo! (2.3% of visits):
This search bar should consolidate the pre-eminence of Google. It allows internet users to facilitate their searches without going to the search engine homepages…

| A good performance for Yahoo! and Live Search in February |
Most search engines remained stable in January 2009. The result for February 2009 is less consistant:
- Google still dominates with 91.27% of visits (91.23% in January 2009),
- Yahoo!, 2nd, rises for the first time in a year: 2.50% in February vs. 2.43% in January 2009,
- Live Search, 3rd, enjoys the highest month over month increase (+0.08 point) to reach 2.36%,
- AOL, 4th (1.36% of visits), drops by 0.04 point after a 3-month stabilization period,
- And Orange, 5th, loses ground and falls below 1% visit share.
No change in places 6 to 10 with in order of appearance: Lo.st (the strongest monthly decline: -0.11 point), Free, Alice, Ask and Yandex.
